Cayucos Chamber of Commerce Safe Halloween for Businesses

Each Halloween, kids and big kids alike enjoy festivities along the central coast and our business community enjoys handing out treats and seeing creative costume.

This year, due to COVID restrictions, trick-or-treating will look a little different. There is no formal gathering allowed, but we anticipate that local businesses might get costumed visitors in town.

Using guidelines from San Luis Obispo County Public Health and the CDC, the following guidelines are available for individuals and businesses receiving costumed guests and trick-or-treaters on Halloween: https://www.emergencyslo.org/en/resourcesGeneral/10-02-20-County-of-SLO-Halloween-Guidance.pdf

DO…

  • Practice safe open requirements the same as any business day

  • Decorate your business for the Halloween and fall season!

  • Plan a fun individual and/or team costume that includes face covering(s)

  • Share your festive costumes and decorations on October 31st and before using hashtags #CayucosCelebrates and #CayucosHalloween

  • If you’re handing out treats, make sure they are individually packaged and make them available at a safe distance (see the link above for specifics on how to prepare safe treats)

  • Keep a positive attitude and help your visitors understand these Halloween requirements

  • Keep our town clean from trash

DON’T…

  • Host events and gatherings or gather in large groups

  • Forget your face covering

  • Offer unpackaged treats or allow unsafe sharing

As always, be safe to reduce COVID exposure. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween.
