The Cayucos Chamber of Commerce is governed by a board of directors who serve a term of two years. Directors are volunteers that love Cayucos, believe in Cayucos and have the desire to be actively involved in the community.
The board meets once a month to plan and carry out the many activities it sponsors during the year. It is also accountable to its members to promote Cayucos by planning events that bring visitors to Cayucos as well as involve residents to use our local businesses and services. The board maintains a budget and plans fund-raising to cover expenses as well as contribute to the community.
The Cayucos Chamber of Commerce has been most instrumental during the past years in promoting the "down home" Fourth of July festivities (see calendar). There are balloon arches that welcome everyone downtown. You will be amazed at the entries for the sand sculpture contest. The main street parade (sponsored by the Lion's Club) will give you reason to cheer. A three day flea market has something for everyone. And finally, the spectacular fireworks display off the pier will offer you the right finale to our Independence Day celebration. During this celebration our town of 3,000 increases by thousands.
One of our other claims to fame is the Annual Polar Bear Dip on January 1st. Come early for the festivities, buy a t-shirt, and then take the plunge at noon. Quite a few creative dippers come in costume!
Cayucos offers three Peddler's Fairs and two Antique Street sales every year. We have Farmer's Market from May to September, an annual Car Show and a Wine & Food Festival, are a few more examples of what the chamber plans. Check our calendar for dates and more events.
